Resources to help understand marine pollution

About

Pollution is a serious problem for marine and coastal environments. Raising awareness about marine pollution and understanding sources, consequences, and potential solutions is vital for the health of our marine and coastal environments and human well-being. However, with so much information available today, it is not always easy to know which resources are the most scientifically accurate and reliable. That is why we have created the Zeropol Hub!

What is the Zeropol Hub?

The Zeropol Hub is a free to use online library of scientifically accurate and reliable educational resources on different types of marine pollution, that are available in different languages!

Who is it for?

The Zeropol Hub is suitable for school children, students, educators, decision makers, and anyone with an interest in learning more about our marine environment!

What kind of resources are available?

There are many types of resources available on the Zeropol Hub including infographics, lesson plans, activities, story maps, reports, and videos.

How does the Zeropol Hub work?

You can tailor your search by pollution type (i.e. Underwater Noise, Microplastics, PFAS, and Nutrient Input), by language, by target audience, and by resource type! Simply click on the ‘Resource Library’ tab and start exploring!

Where Does Our Information Come From?

The Zeropol Hub gathers online resources on marine pollution and either provides direct links to these resources or access through its internal repository.

How Do We Pick Our Resources?

It is important for us that all authors and creators of these scientifically accurate materials are recognised and acknowledged appropriately, which is why we will only include materials where the source is known.

Can I Contribute to the Zeropol Hub?

Yes! We are always interested in finding new resources to help us communicate the causes, impacts, and science of marine pollution! Learn more about how to submit your resources here!
